🦕 Dino Chase! Move a Dinosaur with the Mouse in Scratch

Create an exciting interactive game where a dinosaur follows your mouse pointer around the screen! This Scratch project is perfect for kids, beginners, and educators looking to teach basic motion, mouse interaction, and sprite control.

🧩 Step-by-Step Instructions


  • 🖼️🦖 Step 1: Set Up the Stage


    • Click on Choose a Backdrop, then select the Neon Tunnel backdrop.(you can select any backdrop as your wish)

    • Delete the cat sprite.

    • Click on Choose a Sprite and add the Dinosaur sprite to your project.

🧠 Step 2: Make the Dino Follow the Mouse


  1. Go to the Code tab.

  2. Add this code to your dino:

when green flag clicked
forever
    point towards [mouse-pointer v]
    move (10) steps
end

🔍 Code Explanation

  • when green flag clicked: Starts your code

  • forever: Makes the loop continuous

  • point towards mouse-pointer: Makes the dino always face the cursor

  • move 5 steps: Moves forward a little bit every time
