Play Instruments with Just a Click!" This fun and interactive Scratch projectĀ is perfect for students who love music, animation, and coding. Kids can build their own bandĀ using simple drag-and-drop blocks. When users click on each instrumentākeyboard, drums, trumpet, or guitarāthey'll hear real instrument sounds. To make it more colorful, the background changes colorĀ whenever it is clicked.
This beginner-friendly project is a great way to learn about event blocks, sound blocks, broadcasting, backdrops, and sprite interaction. It's perfect for students in the age group of 8 to 14Ā and can be used in STEM and creative coding classrooms.
ā Step 1: Open Scratch
Go to https://scratch.mit.edu
Click "Create"Ā to start a new project
ā Step 2: Add Sprites for Instruments
Delete the default cat sprite (optional)
Click on "Choose a Sprite"Ā ā search or upload:
Keyboard
Drums
Guitar
Trumpet
ā Step 3: Add Costumes to Each Sprite
Click on each sprite
Go to the āCostumesā tab
Add or duplicate costumes:
ā Step 4: Add Sounds to Each Sprite
Select a sprite (e.g., Keyboard)
Go to the āSoundsā tab
Click "Choose a Sound"Ā and pick:
Keyboard: Piano
Drums: Drum Beat
Guitar: Guitar Chord
Trumpet: Trumpet Blast
ā Step 5: Add the Code to Each Instrument Sprite
Repeat the following code for each sprite, but change the sound name accordingly.
Example: Keyboard Sprite

Click on the Stage, then add this code:
